hi,
i can tell you from experience, that field is a dinosaur. It is hard as hell to find work as an IE. If you live in a large industrial area, you may not have that much trouble.The pay is great but the job security stinks. Please talk to other IEs before jumping into that line of work.
It’s not a bad major, although we at Georgia Tech like to call IE imaginative engineering because it’s perceived to be the easiest of all engineers.
Dunno if it’s hard to find jobs, but I know it deals with logistics and people. I know someone who graduated and is now working with Ryder (storage company) working to optimize their resources.
