Not as much as they used to. Sadly, so many districts are in financial disaster, Industrial and Fine Arts, then PE are the first to get cut when the budget gets tight. Too bad the idiots in Washington DC and the state government don’t realize that not every student is college bound and that Industrial Arts classes provide a much needed service and start to students who are gifted in skilled trades and may very well be able to make a living from them in the future. No Child Left Behind? Yeah, right.
At the High School teach at they do, but they call it Tech. now. They have classes that specialize in wood, metal and welding. There are usually 3 levels of each and they also have manufacturing and a class where they build a car.
