HOW TO LOWER NOISE FROM AN “INDUSTRIAL” FAN?

A adjacent commercial operation has a little really shrill air blower sound entrance from their roof tiles - how can you still this down?

you mean a loud noise is coming from your house or garage.take it back to the building site you stole it from.

I have seen this situation before from a friend and I would suggest you contact the business and have them install a sound wall around the noisy fan. You can view similar project on this websites case history: http://enoisecontrol.com/sound_barrier_wall.html

    Kinda depends on the “noise”

If its a squeeking or squeeling then they need to change their belts and tensioners and look at lubrication

If it is a roaring sound then thats just the fan doing its work. They could be maxing it out and could put a variable speed control ($$) on it to slow it slightly, would reduce noise

They could re-do the exit/ent of the fan and duct it away from residences (like straight up or back onto their property)

If its a vibration or banging the fan is moving around, they need to re-secure it

Lastly they could buy a brand new motor and blade, they make some really quiet ones now

if it is bothering you, not them, why dont you offer to pay for the expense of changing it?
