HOW WAS THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION A MAJOR FACTOR IN THE RISE OF IMPERIALISM?

Imperialism is strengthening a single republic by it’s territorial acquisition, right? Domination over alternative territories….But didn’t a industrial rev. meant a some-more complicated age? About equivalence or leisure as well as such…so how could a industrial series lead to a entrance up of imperialism? shouldn’t it be a downfall? I’m confused, as well as nonetheless I’ve review things which contend a industrial rev. was a vital cause in a climb of imperialism….please help!!!

Industrialism has nothing to do with freedom and liberty…they can coexists but they are not co-dependent.

The reason for the rise of Imperialism during the industrial revolution is one of economics. With the rise of industry, countries found that they were able to produce more goods than there own countries could provide raw materials for. They need for more raw materials influenced countries into a imperialistic polices.

I think this is refering to the rise of imperialism just before WWI which would be around the middle of the 19th century to the turn of the twentith century. The European Industrial revolution began around the 18th century and the American Industrial Revolution around the turn of the twentieth century. Since we are talking about Imperialism I would assume they are refering to European Industry.

In that case, the Industrial Revoltion influenced Imperialism because with the invention of new industrial ways of manufacturing goods, such as: textiles, coal, etc. led to the need for more natural resources. Since these resources were scarce in Europe, they looked to Asia, Africa and the Americas for these resources. Whole continants were basically divided up amoung European nations. By the 1900s all but Ethiopia in Africa was colonized. Similar problems ensued in South America as well.

The Industrial revolution gave rise to business, business needs products for consumers and natural resources for their industries. Colonialism is using miltary force and political coertion to obtain resorces, consumer goods and new consumers by exploiting the third world and weak nations. Profit is the major force of the Industrial revolution.
