Well, first of all you need to determine who is your target market. Best thing to do is to find a niche within that group, basically meaning who are you specifically trying to target within your target market.
Once you have determined your niche and target market, determine who is the decision maker of the group that purchases the tools. Keep in mind, the person using the tool doesn’t necessarily mean that they are the decision makers, they just simply are the users. Decision makers are the ones that makes the final decision and has the power to say yes or no.
Since you mentioned industrial tools, I’m assuming that you are going to target businesses. So like I said before, try to do some networking and try to find the decision maker. Once you have, try to set up an appointment to make a presentation to them.
During your first meeting, just trying to uncover some of the problems that they might have and potentially see if your product can be a solution. Make sure you bring tools for demonstration and a presentation explaining the importance. Allow them to play with the tools and perhaps even keep it for a few days to test it out and see if they actually like it. Give them your contact info and tell them to contact you if they have any questions.
Next few days, just follow up with them and see how everything is going. Try to set up another appointment so you can see how things went and their responses. Then try to make a deal. If anything, you can always gather options from the users to see what they think and response is of the tools. If they feel like it’s truly something they can use and would help them out a lot, then you might be able to use that to support your case.
