First of all, have you taken any classes in PHOTOGRAPHY? if you haven’t I suggest that you do because with the equipments ties everything!

The equiptments that you need would be:

1.) Film cameras, 35mm, Medium format, Large Format (especially for industrial, landscape and architecture photography) and if you prefer Digital Camera.

    2.) Strobe lights

3.) Light Meter (incident/reflective) & spot meter for industrial, landscape, or architecture photography)

4.) Hot lights (this light is different from the strobe lighst) and other lights such as back light, main light, box light, hair light etc…

    5.) Various Back drops

    6.) Various Tripods

7.) Light Gels to put over the lights to add/subtract contrast/shadows

I hope this helps! I’m a photographer myself, I’ve used all the equipments I listed above, if you have questions feel free to contact me!

    A high-end digital SLR, like a Nikon D2 or D3.

Quality lenses — don’t spend thousands on a good body and then put average optics in front of it. When the shutter is open, the only thing between your subject and the CCD is your glass. Get some prime lenses: 24, 50, 105, 200. Image stabilization lenses are lifesavers, and those that open to 2.8 or more allow you to get nice shallow depth of field.

For fashion, you’ll need a dedicated external flash.

Buying used from a reputable camera shop can save you some money. BH Photo in NYC is a great place to buy.

Those are two diverse areas of photography.

That said, I am a glamour photographer, with a degree in industrial/scientific photography and a math/science major … Yikes!

First you really have to go to a good school that will give you the knowledge and skills to be a competent photographer.

    What happens is this:

While you are learning how to use a 4×5 view camera to complete about two years of the technical skills necessary to shoot industrial photographs, you will start accumulating the exact cameras you will need to actually become a pro in those fields.

The schools that will “fast track” you to the skills you need are as follows:

    Art Center
    Brooks
    RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology)

Then you will have exactly what you need and no more … after all when you spend nearly $25,000 for equipment and the other accessories you will be using in your career, you will not want to buy things you don’t really need.
