why not buy some cheap Vodka?
you can buy food grade cleaners from many suplliers including grainger, mcmaster-carr, etc.
rshughes co has an aerosol cleaner labled ”mold cleaner” that work decent
One issue may be that consumable alcohol is subject to the liquor tax. I think that may be why cheap vodka costs more than isopropyl or denatured alcohol.
You may have to choose between one of the first two answers.
What do they use in “wetnaps”? Maybe if the cleaning product was not sold as a liquid, but rather sold as ethanol saturated pads, then it wouldn’t be subject to the liquor tax. Also, hand sanitizers are a non-toxic alcohol gel; ethanol I think.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to fix a sanitary martini…*kidding*
Contact FDA (Food and Drug Administration) if you are from the United States or its counterpart if you are from another country. As far as I know, the food grade label is used only for those products that can be ingested. As for isopropyl and ethyl alcohols, it has something to do with dilution. What would food microbiologists use?
