Well, first I would make sure that all employees who are operating any type of machinery were trained on them before actually turning them lose to operate them. Also, I would make sure that the employees were wearing any/all safety equipment when performing their job duties. Finally, I feel it is the responsibility of the employer to create a safe and secure invironment in which his/her employees would work.
easy access to adequate saftey equipment,proper training,enough people to do the job,sober,workers who have not been working a bunch of overtime and are not working understaffed, managers that can actually safly and effectively preform the job that they are supervising and training or mentoring others to preform, proper procedure or body mechanics ,follow protocol
I would say a lot of OJT or on the job training with equipment/people. Make sure proper guidelines with OSHA or whatever organization in which ever country for safety. Make sure the employer is treating the employees with fairness and honesty. Make sure the employer is paying on time. Make sure the employees are there in timely fashion. Make sure the employees have had adequate rest. Make sure that employees are given breaks during the day. Make sure that employees don’t leave equipment running, or that equipment is cleaned up after usage.
